Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the forum. I've read the buyer's guide and I did a search to check to see if this subject had been covered before but couldn't find anything.

I'm currently looking at buying a 111R. Looking at below 20k mileage, touring pack versions from 05 plate onwards, preferably black or grey.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any specialist vehicle inspectors for lotus elises. I was thinking of getting the AA to do me one but wondered if they would have the specialist knowledge.

I'd be really grateful for any comments, insights.

Also, if anyone has an elise matching the above for sale let me know what offers you'd entertain?

Many thanks in advance.

Tom.

Paul Matty has an 111R, 05 plate, 20k miles, touring pack but in ardent red.

Not sure if £16,995 is a good price or not?

If you are interested look here;

Look under products then showroom - it is about 2/3rds down the list.

AA won't take the under tray off, so no, not worth having them do it.

Any owner who knows their car is a decent buy should have no problem taking it along to their local specialist so you can pay to have it checked over. You'll have to pay the garage (probably a couple of hours labour) but it'll be cheaper than the AA/RAC checks, and much more thorough!

My old 111R, in storm titanium, is for sale at B&C.

I owned the car from new and had done approx 28k miles, so a little over your specified target, but has always run well and been reliable, which is more than can be said for its replacement, a S1 sport 160.

Probably a couple of grand overpriced but could be worth a look.

Good luck and good choice of model.

Dave

Many thanks for the posts guys.

I've taken the advice and got a lotus stratstone dealer to look at it - the insight was fantastic - they pointed out really picky things like the fact that the "e" badge on the side had been lacquered over so it was likely that it had been repainted because it doesn't come like that as standard.

There is no way that AA inspection would havve noticed something like that!!

Thanks again

tom

PS coming very close to purchase now - pretty excited
