hello,

just found a upgrade for a 12cylinder engine on the bay in germany.
(search for : brabus crankshaft 6,7 )
The seller emailed me that it ´ll be only for a M137 engine.....WHATs the dif?
Where can I see if it´s suitable for mine? Is there anything else for these engines on the marked?
How much would a complette engine rebuilt cost. I can get another engine for some peanuts and beers.
If somebody with a Brabus 6,7 ltr could reply would be helpfull !

cheers

At the risk of being facetious:

(1) that is not an engine for sale, merely a tuning kit comprising new pistons and crankshaft; in order to fit it, you would need to rebuild and rebore your existing engine;

(2) you do not state which engine you have, so how on earth can we tell you whether it is suitable for yours?

(3) "m137" is the designation of a particular design of V12 engine built by Mercedes bewteen (approximately) 2000 and 2003; it has three valves per cylinder and is normally aspirated; it can be found with a capacity of 5.8litres and an output of 367bhp in the W220 S600 and W215 CL600 (up to MY2004) and with a capacity of 6.25litres and an output of 444bhp in the extremely limited-build W220 S63 AMG and W215 CL63 AMG.

A full rebuild of pretty much any Mercedes V12 will cost at least £10k if done properly by a reputable workshop; an upgrade which involves increasing capacity (whether by enlarging the bore or extending the stroke), enlarging the valves and installing high lift cams will run to £30k plus including parts.

HAVING A Mercedes MECH in your independend Workshop HELPS KEEPING COSTS lower than at the main dealerships. He is doing also 55Kompressor engines for the UAE and so -sometimes it takes time but within the estimated date.
Now I have an idea I will contact them.

THANKS FOR THE REPLY
