Christmas booze diary......

Today I was still off before going back to work so I stopped drinking yesterday, went running today etc etc.
Anyway I decided to add up all the booze I had over Christmas and see where I was in terms of weekly units etc.
So:
15 days without working.
41 cans of Boddingtons
1 bottle of red wine
1 bottle of cognac
All of this was spread very evenly over the 15 days, 3-4 Boddingtons a day, 1 large cognac in the afternoon and wine with Christmas and boxing day lunch.
Not a great deal you might think, and I don't generally drink much in the house, Christmas is a relaxing time from a work perspective etc so I can do as I like.
Worked out the units and I was looking at around 100 units in 15 days, even spread as I say over the days.
You are recommended to drink no more that 21 units a week as a man, and I had 50, so over double, but I was never drunk and thought I was quite moderate...?

arrived stoned to christmas dinner [newly single, needed to be perked up
] so thought i'd get drunk as quickly as possible to cover it up. had 2 glasses of champers in short order, a bottle of red wine with the starter and a bottle of port with the rest of the meal. sank much whisky that day, and was on bottle no.4 between me and the old man by the time i left my parents house.
stupid and ott but did the job. at least i remembered the actual meal this time, not like last year in the pub with the open cellar......

New year's eve, this year. Admittedly two chaps going at it, but one bottle of caol ila*. Hellishly nice stuff tho' ...

* - On top of the champagne cocktails, bottle of red and bottle of white, small bottle of vin santo and half-bottle of port. Those were shared with the wives as well tho'.
