Am i the only one here who upon hearing something costs X per month that automatically times it by 10 in your head to get a very rough yearly cost.
Example sky only costs £60 a month but in my head i hear sky costs over £600 a year.

Yes i know there is 12 months but i'm thick and can't quickly multiple by 12 so 10 will do

I can't help multiplying by 10 and then by 50 because I that's hopefully how much longer I'll live, thus Sky subs cost >£30,000. Therefore I do not have Sky.Example sky only costs £60 a month but in my head i hear sky costs over £600 a year.

Indeed, and an item on sale at "less than one thousand pounds" will be £999.99.But yes, I also do the calculations a lot for many things (pet insurance, £60 for a month for one of the dogs = £720 a year, BUT then one Op she had about four years ago was £3400, so that means I am still winning.............)..

Has the metric year been introduced already? That adds twelve years to my age - but hey, I can now claim my pension and bus pass.

I multiply it by 10, get 600, then add 60 get 660 and then add 60 again and get 720 and then I estimate what 30% of it is ( About £210 ) and then add the 210 to the 720 and get £930. Then I round it up to £1000 and say "I have to earn £1000 before tax to get sky ? Er No." Example sky only costs £60 a month but in my head i hear sky costs over £600 a year.

So you think £600 and I think 3% of my earnings or 1.3 hours a week.
That's what I do : work out how many hours I have to work to pay for it.

Now all we have to do is work out how to get paid for watching 2 hours of sky TV.... this time next year... miwyonnaires

People who don’t have sky because “it’s a rip off” make me laugh! I think the full ‘works’ with all the channels is between 40-60 a month depending on if you have Sky+ and a couple of other things. When you consider the amount of channels you get its good value IMO! There are always movies on with no adverts to break them up, loads of sports channels, all the documentary channels and pretty much everything in between. Especially when you consider people pay £40+ for a gym membership every month they never use! I watch Sky channels all the time (football last night + Men Behaving Badly on GOLD + Space documentary about the Rovers on Mars on National Geographic). As we have multi-room, other members of the household were watching a movie. It works out at around £2/day for our package.
We also have Sky+ which is dead handy for recording say a UFC event so I can watch it the next day and FF all the adverts out of it.
I personally think Sky is great!
