Do some 'friends' make you scream?
Discussion
My wife's friends make my p155 boil big time.
Via friends reunited she arranged a reunion betwen 5 or 6 girls she went to school with. They came to our house, she cooked a nice m,eal, they talked about old times etc etc and generally got on well. Agreed that they should do it every 18 month or two years.
Generally they have been, what I regard as 'tardy', including one asking for a specially prepared meal because of a medically required diet then not eating that meal on arrival but reverting to the food they knew everyone was eating because 'it looked so nice'. Another insists it is always on a Friday, even though that isn't convenient to those having to travel and having nothing on on the Saturday. But the one who really annoys me is the one who simply doesn't reply to the invitations, then pops up asking if things can be changed to suit her. Her excuse for not replying is that she has bbeen really busy at work (so busy that a single email; cannot be sent), had flu over Christmas and her head is still 'too fuzzy' to look at her diary. Another wanted to invite someone she knew at schol but nobody else did, and that girl's brother and wanted Mrs BandB to welcome them to the house ande cook for them.
I would have binned these wasters long ago.
I think Mrs BandB needs to get some new friends and/or simply hold it at a pub and then they can please themselves if they turn up.
Anybody else have tardy and inconsiderate friends, and if so why do you tolerate them?
leave your wife to it. if it annoys her, she'll do something about it. if it doesn't annoy her, you'll look like a t
t for dragging it up.
if i were you, i'd make myself scarce when they were there - pub night out, that kind of thing.
ETA - scarce, not scare, although that might work too

When did you first decide to become a eunuch, and how are you finding it?

Indeed. But the wife should probably suggest that someone else does it for a change if it's always at their place.

nah - i wouldn't suggest that either - you're just asking for an argument. maybe the wife enjoys having the friends over at her house. i'm sure she's adult enough to change things she doesn't like about the arrangements.Eddh said:

So first you slate your house-guests, then you b*tch about your 'friends'. Can I guess that you are one of these lonely, miserable people who can't work out why nobody speaks to you?Via friends reunited she arranged a reunion betwen 5 or 6 girls she went to school with. Why not actually talk to the people in question, rather that using P&P to complain about everyone in your life?

pretty much what I was going to say.I don't have many people that I call "friend", in fact I can count them on one hand. I have many colleagues and acquaintances whom I can take or leave but my friends are actually friends.
I know what you mean. My wife is like that, she will put up with all sorts of iffy treatment from friends and family. I just hate seeing her treated like that, but it doesn't seem to bother her in the slightest.
She is always the one to back off in supermarket trolley situations too, some woman wants to come barging through she just waits til they've gone and carries on seeming unaware.
