Tuscan 2 Electrics question - Indicator relay failure ?

Hi Folks,
I started up my car a few weeks back ago it had been parked outside (lots of rain at the time) and indicators no longer worked.

There was no indicator light on the dash pod, etc, when depressing the stalk at all, but all other electrics seem fine.

So, I parked her in an underground car park and must have left the hazards on (whilst playing with the stalk) as indicators subsequently came on after I parked and completely flattened the battery.

Managed to jump start car and indicators now come on on but no repeater function (relay broken ?). Left the car running for almost on hour and switched off but car won't restart - battery now seems to be gradually draining.

I bought a CITEK trickle charger and have left the car charging overnight so will see if I can get her to start this evening. I suspect that the indicators will still be playing up.

So, has anyone got any top tips for things to try before I get her into a dealer ? I've seen a few postings on checking for circuit boards, cleaning and drying them properly, etc.

Any advice much appreciated as usual...

Hi Jonolondon

Try fuse no6 underneath the dash drivers side,its rated 15amp and supplies hazards and alarm indicators,if fuse ok try indicator unit no 32.

the fuse box on later tuscans are different between the mk2s (with skinny funky dashes)and last mk 3s (with conventional type clocks) wiring harness different. relays fuses etc in different places..

Thanks Guys - I'll take a look - are they standard-type fuses or specific to TVR ?

Good news is that my Citek charger has now at least charged the battery so that she now starts at least !

hopefully the indicators will function ok now she has a good charge in her,low voltage causes all sorts of UN rational problems with electronics and relays dropping out..best of british

Hi - For those of you that might be interested, there is another electrical junction box hidden underneath the dash. Water had managed to get into it and it was corroded. Box was replaced and problem now solved - labour was only about an hour or so...
