I got a load of abuse from a Yank during a domination game of COD4. I blew him and most of his team up twice with a grenade launcher as they were capturing the flag and next thing I get an abusive PM about being a prick and a noob. I sent one back about him being a st player if he gets owned by a noob and this lit the blue touch paper and I was suprised that he managed a reply as he was so incandescent with rage.

The best part was that I found him as he was typing a reply and stabbed him in the back

I'm a relatively crap player in COD4, but still enjoy playing now and then. The chat that goes between players is just brilliant - l ike abusing people for a particular style of playing

I think people would bring you up on your grammar first but we here in the computer games section don't seem to do that sort of thing. I will buy a PS3 some point but probably got GT5 & pro evo 2009.

Me and SkylineCrazy were playing Team Tacticals on COD4 when some fella on the other team took a dislike to us, and started sending us all sorts of funny stuff.

Gave us an extra reason to win, so then we could gloat at the end of each game about how brilliant we were... some of the abuse he sent to us after that was positively epic.

Ah, I love online gaming...

Many many years ago, a bunch of us from a Quake2 usenet group used to stage "World Tours". We'd descend on an American server with names like "UK}Tea", "UK}Guvnor", "UK}Braveheart" and the like (although "UK}Vietnam" went down particularly well ). And randomly 'shout' stuff in the main message channel like "Remember the Empire" and "Tally ho! Let's give the Yanks a beasting".

Some of them took it the right way and retaliated in kind, but it used to wind some of them up something chronic

I guess this has been around for many years! Yank baiting was a great sport on the old text based talker programs back when the interwebs at large was a teenager. Especially after a few beers.
