Its not a good week for the Lotus owners in my family.

My dear father has a 05 111s thats having some immobilizer problems.

When the car is locked the alarm goes off and when its unlocked it just won't start. Dick Lovett haven't returned his calls so he's a little panicky.

Any suggestions gents?

I had something similar happen on my wife's Alfa, which turned out to be the battery dying. With the cold weather if the car has been standing around then this may be the problem. Oh yea the lights and that kind of stuff worked on the Alfa, it was only the AA man's voltmeter and jumpstart that convinced me it was the battery.

The Manual has a section on resynching and resetting the alarm, may also be worth a try. page 13 in mine.

Good luck

the last poster sounds right to me..

i had not driven my car for a few months ,,thn i had the problems you have posted...rang castle lotus (very helpfull) they told me the battery must be flat or very near it... that same day found out it was flat ...recharged it now evrerything is back to normal..
was told this is due to alarm using power but as it was not driven the battery never got a charge...
