Gordon Clown on ITV news last night

Did anyone else catch the bit on the news when they followed Clown around for a day.
They were on the train etc and he seemed to be so jovial and smiley! Still talked utter rubbish though.
The bits that did stick out for me though were the bits where people were actually shaking his hand. Some people seemed to go out of their way to do this!! WTF!!! Are they stupid???
Why would anyone want to shake this man's hand!??
Edited to add: unless you've just been for a colonic irrigation and hadn't washed properly! That would be the only reason to do this!

I walked into the lounge to see the OH watching ITV and just caught sight Mr. Motivator at number 10 saying that he was 'running the country' - after nearly hitting the ceiling with joy at the fact that someone who has a clue is going to be in charge, I felt dissapointed that he's only running from one side of the country to the other ...

If you pulled his trsouers down he'd make a joke about it, laugh, give the cameras a moment to take a photo of his pants around his ankles and then pullt hem up again. True, and there are examples of politicians reacting to public badly - John Prescott and the eggs, for example - but short of something physical I'm sure he'd either just walk past, or - more politician like - stop you and start talking to you, asking what your problems with him are, and explaining the reasons behing your issues etc.

Seems to be doing a national tour at the moment.
The other night he was in a supermarket, spoke to a lady paying for shopping at the checkout ' are you here doing your shopping? '.
Last night, walked into a shop, ' it's warmer in here than outside !'
I guess it must be hard to strike up a conversation, but the opening lines seemed to be from the ministry of stating the bleeding obvious!
And the hand shaking, would be pretty funny if someone gave him a chinese burn or had one of those jokeshop shock things!
