Paypal accounts a mess - help

I have more than one Paypal account set-up. A very old one which I cannot remember the log-in details to and a newer one set-up separately for me and my soon-to-be-brother-in-law for when we started selling stuff on Ebay a while back.

Basically I want to get rid of both of these accounts and set-up a brand new one linked to my permanent email for which I can use going forward.

Sounds simple and feasible but Paypal is never that. Any foreseable problems with what I want?

Yes, under the terms you can't hold more than one personal account, so try and get into the old one and change the email address if you can. Call the helpline and explain and see what they suggest.

You could just add the email address you want to use to the new account. Then delete the old address. job done?

I tried to change the email address of my paypal and ebay accounts and delete the old one, it took forever, it seemed incapable of deleting the old email, then when I managed it the payments would be sent to my old email and it would make me sign up using my old email address to claim them. All my paypal and ebay profiles showed the new email address and yet yet it still went to the old one.

Eventually, after putting descriptions on my auctions asking people to ensure they sent payment to my new email separately (bypassing ebay checkout) it worked and I could delete the old email address properly; then ebay demanded a new paypal address and I entered the new one.

Sorry for the long winded explanation fo what was a typical long winded problem with fookin ebay/paypal!

Change your name by deed poll.

Move house.

Change banks.

Set up a new account and eBay I.D.

It'll be easier and quicker than trying to do it via PayPal, believe me
