I did see that but I thought, to be honest, it looked awful. However, the Griff sketch piqued my interest.http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
I'm contemplating rebuilding a Griff to my personal spec and as I don't like convertibles then this is an avenue to look down.
I bumped into Clive Reed of Zertec fame a few months back while he was over here and we had quite a long chat about all things TVR and among the many things we discussed he said that the fastback roof would have probably have only been viable while the Griff was in production as the costs involved would make it too expensive for the very limited aftersales market.

I agree with the sentiment, but the mod in the picture vs what could be done in reality would be worlds apart. To get the effect of the picture you would need to incorporate a modified boot and that brings loads of other questions about where the join is and how you are going to do it.
The 'real' one seen on a Griff is surely something which can be realistically done without it being a major PITA to fit and remove each winter/summer.
Having said that, I wonder if they just set about mimicking the original roof in GRP, or whether they thought about anything a bit more radical - incorporating the butress and flat rear screen look of the XJS/BMW 5 convertible.

Getting the standard boot to still work would be the main issue but certainly, a lid with butresses is the only visual way forward. The 'real' one seen on a Griff is surely something which can be realistically done without it being a major PITA to fit and remove each winter/summer.

I still don't know why I bought a T350C as I've never taken the panels out
