not sure if ive got gremlins or not!

dont do many miles in the car maybe 10 a day to the train station and back.

When i do take it on a run ie today drove to leicester. After about 1 hour of driving when i sat in traffic the temperature guage moved up towards the half got halfway between the half and the line below stopped and came down again abruptly to the line below the half where it always sits. No problems with water thats fine no other issues at all.

Should the LS2 VXR have a viscous fan? as it would appear i have twin electric fans?

i know hence i removed the one on the 200sx!

i do take confort in the fact that the cooling fan is on the go all the time though!

anyone care to comment on my gremlins.

do they have conventional thermostats? ie could that be sticking?

Normal thermostat. Could be sticking, but if it only goes to halway i wouldn't worry unduly.

Check contacts on sensor for gauge. Mine gave odd readings until I fixed it

thanks for that!

It doesnt quite make it to half way to be honest just between the half and the line below! it then went one line down from normal on the way home on some fast road stuff then back to normal in a flash. Are they accessable to change and can they be sourced readily?

You can stick the dash in diagnostics mode and get a readout of ECT in degrees F if you want to study it.
