bath or no bath, thats the question?
Discussion
I looking at redoing my bathroom, its 5ft 8 across and 6ft 6 long (window one end, door the other) and currently has a bath, toilet, sink and radiator, so as you can imagine its a bit cramped....
After a trip to finland and seeing they only have wet rooms, it got me thinking, so what are people opinions of the main bathroom not having a bath (lived there for over a year and have never used it) and having a shower only or even making it into a wet room, which is another query, how expensive are wet rooms?
Will not having a bath mean i lose value in my flat, or do the people out there not care about a bath?
So bath or no bath?
If a bath, then im thinking about placing the bath across at one end and hence will need a short bath to fit the 5ft 8 gap next to the window so can anyone recommend a place that does short baths?
Also can anyone recommend any companies that are reliable and good value with regards to bathroom suites? I heard some bad things about bathstore.com and was wondering if anyone has used them?
One final thing is this just a gimmick or is it any good, it seems all the range at the moment:

If you do go for a bath, I'd definitely NOT have a short one. The entire purpose of a bath (over a shower) is to lie down and relax - not possible if the bath is too short.
Without a bath, I reckon you'll be limiting the market for your flat if you come to sell as girls love baths (generalisation, I know).

flat needs a bath in the main bathroomSo bath or no bath?
if you must have a wet room make it in your en-suite
So what is the take on a short bath then?
I want to move the bath round from a normal sized one which means the rest of the space is cramped with the toilet, basin and radiator, to a short bath at across one end and more room for the toilet, basin and radiator so its not so cramped.
Is that acceptable or is the short bath like the one below still not acceptable?

Always have a bath if you want to sell. I made this mistake with a small house I had years ago. Ripped out the bathroom and put in a big power shower instead of a bath. When I went to sell the only people who were interested were single blokes, No couple or female would entertain the property unless a bath was put in.

Consider the placement, corner bath will be same size, but less floor space....

When I lived on my own I gutted a house and decided I only needed a shower.
Its only when you haven't got one that you appriciate having a bath, even one you would only use once in a blue moon.
Parents bathe their children - in the bath. Try selling a bathless house to a young family. Its only when you haven't got one that you appriciate having a bath, even one you would only use once in a blue moon.
Our bathroom is only about 6ft square, but we put a shower/bath in, as I thought we'd have trouble selling it without one.
We installed a bath with a bubble at the tap end and a curved shower screen, forget the name except it was French (surprise, surprise). It's 1500mm long, but quite deep. The bit at the end forms a useful shelf for shower gel etc. The screen doesn't catch all the splashed water though, so it's a good job we've a tiled floor.
There is also a toilet and washbasin in, and TBH it's not THAT cramped.
