I woke up this morning with a cracking headache which has lasted all day. Usually I am prety immune to headaches and the first whiff of fresh air or a glass of water sees off any muggyness. I haven't had an alcoholic drink since last weekend so the only thing I can think it might be, besides The Aids and a brain tumour, is the fact I loaded my coffee machine with decafiniated beans a few days ago and may be missing my daily caffiene hit.

I usually drink 3 or 4 large cups of coffee a day from the machiine, so can caffiene withdrawl cause these kind of headaches?

I never get headaches last one probably 1990 !!

On wednesday cracked and had a beer and headache was gone within an hour !!!!

I would say yes ,I tend to get the mother of all headaches in the afternoons if I haven't had at least one cup in the morning.

Cold or sinus problem, possibly?

Drink one small cup of 'proper' coffee, should give you the answer pretty quickly. Cold turkey's no fun!

I never get headaches - is there something wrong with us? Will we die untimely deaths because of it?

I have a caffeine-junkie work colleague and she confesses to proper headaches if she doesn't get her fix on time.

Yes. I drink about 10 cups a day and without my 'fix' I get headaches.

I have not drunk caffine in 8 years now. When I came off about 8 coffees a day, I had a headache for 3 weeks, then it went and since then, I've slept 3/4 hour better per night and feel much better for it.

My guess is caffine detox

Yes, if I get a headache a couple of short strong coffees will always get rid of it.
