I thought that you may be interested in some pics of my build. The site is in Swedish (sorry for that). Click "Ultima GTR" and then click "byggbilder" and then "DEL2" and "DEL3". www.kenson.info

Someone's gotta put you in your place GTRMannen. You just wait, this time next year....

Love the side ass shot of the silver ultima on that site, really shows the curves. Now I'm starting to think a titanium with green and purple tint/highlights.

Love the carbon fibre sills. Did you get them from the factory or were they made specially?

They are used to hold the grilles in place till the glue/epoxy dries.

Glad you guys like the carbon fiber parts

I've made the design/forms for the sillcovers and a local carbon fibre company has made them out of pre preg carbon fiber. The middle of the cover is a sandwich construction (dyvinicell), very light and stiff. The opening is cut by water. The sill on the picture isn't finished, it will look even better when they are sanded and clear coated.

They will be for sale if anyone is interested.

I must say the carbon fibre looks great (so does the rest of the car). I appreciate the carbon is strong and rigid but how strong is the bonding, as the sheet alloy is bonded and riveted - Do you thing it will make much difference to the total rigidity of the vehicle or is it more for the look.

I like the gun-metal finish on the wing struts and wheels. It's different and that is good.

Most of the carbon fibre panels are both bonded and riveted. The sillcovers shall also be riveted (with black rivets with big heads). The Carbon is mostly for looks but it will be a bit lighter then aluminium but not enough to be worth the extra cash and work if you aren't VERY serious about weight savings.

Almost all aluminium brackets etc are anodized black. The fuel tanks and the grills are Powder Coated black. Powder coat is very hard and durable and has a very "proffesional" look.
