Good shout
The baby scene always freaks me out, mind
Turned out I took a photo of one of the locations entirely by accident.

Calton Road. Renton & co leg it down the street towards where I shot this and the black Sierra that nearly hits him pulls out of the side road behind that white van.
Actually, I've not watched the film since I moved to Edinburgh. Might be interesting to see what I recognise. (I believe the "mug a tourist" scene was shot in the City Limits bar on Leith Walk just up the road from my flat)

I was heading back to Princess Street after going to a rock club and suddenly realised it was that street.

Princes. Many male royalty. Not one female one.Sorry, a bugbear of mine

(also, it's Princes St they are legging it down before Calton Road. They nip down the steps outside the Black Bull pub)
And the club was probably Studio 24 I'm guessing?

Yeah, and the bit where Renton "needs a taxi" was shot in Sighthill in Glasgow. It looks very much like Niddrie in Edinburgh though.
Edinburgh Council would not allow shooting because it would sully the good name.
And we all know there are no thieving junkie scum in Edinburgh eh ?
There's another bit near Mother Superior's that looks distinctly like Craigmillar, but I don't think it is.Edinburgh Council would not allow shooting because it would sully the good name.
