Hiya all!

I've got a Works Coopers S which has got a worrying fault that I hope you can help with.

I've just had the Cat replaced as it snapped off for some reason and now it has been i've noticed a ticking noise coming from under the bonnet. The noise is only evident under acceloration and the ticks get more frequent as the revs increase.

Does anyone know what this could be, and would it be related to the exhaust problem?

there are quite a few items which can tick from the supercharger to the tappets. You are probably just listening now you have had work.

I think you need to be more specific with the noise and where you think it is from.

I don't think it will have anything to do with your exhaust unless its touching something

It sounds like the back of the engine block, to me it sounded more injector related. It's a fast ticking noise which makes me think that way.

I might call up tomorrow and extend my warranty if that's the case as I can imagine a large bill developing with something like that.

I suppose it could be as simple as a loose heat shield... is it constant and does it get louder or stop at any point?
