Suspension bushes upgrade!
Discussion
I have had problems as have others with the duration of the rear suspension bushes on my Ultima. I recently changed these but after 15 high speeds straight-line runs including very high-speed corners at Bruntingthorpe the rears started to show slight movement. I spoke to the factory and they stated that they believe that there are a batch of urethane suspension bushes in circulation which aren't quite up to the job for high torque cars such as mine.
The rear bushes were replaced by harder black bushes free of charge (speak to the factory about this) and fitted by me this weekend. I went for a run in the car and first impression is that the ride has not been affected. In fact the car feels slightly more stable under acceleration as the power can be felt being transmitted more to the rear wheels with less of a cushioning affect from the softer bushes. I also run TC with 10% slip, which loads up the rear during acceleration (look at EdT’s video on the Ultima Forum to see this working during acceleration).
Hope this helps
