Hi can anyone help or has anyone had the same problem ?

My car has just gone into Lambo-London for a throttle body service and some other work BUT I had a call form them saying the brake Lights where not working along with a few other things and nowing they where quiet I though this was all to bump up the price, so I only agreed to the origanal work to be done as I thought they was trying it on. Have used the car on a daly basis I would have be notified sooner rather than later that they were not working...

Anyway the lights are simply are not working .....I have other lights working at the rear and my display is showing no faulty lights....

Thanks in avdance....

Change the bulb. I imagine they'll only be R380 or R382 bulbs or possibly an LED.

It's Audi switchgear anyway (which in turn is essentially the same as VW switchgear) so it's not too complicated. Very unlikely the housing has malfunctioned because your other lights would have gone out too. Worst case scenario it's a brake light switch (another Audi item I suspect) or a 50p fuse that needs changing.

Tell us how much they quote you for the 'fix' please.

If you don't mind what did they charge for the throttle body service and what was involved in that ?

My guess would be that it is the brake switch on the brake pedal as i've had this problem with two of my audis (not a lambo but parts probably comes from the same place). Think I paid about £10 for the part and fitted it myself.

Hi thanks for the responces...really strange as it started working again all on its own !

As for the Throttle body clean it was only £260.00 inc vat
They also replaced the four of the rubber mounts for the ABS pump total price foe the 2 jobs was £519 inc vat which I thought was very resonable.

Just a quick one on the throttle bodies. I had mine done by Carrera Sport and they were a lot cheeper than Lambo London.

when you say throttle body service do you mean as in being cleaned and not balanced ?

The first thing that went through my mind was the brake light switch on the pedal... It could possibly be dodgy wiring or a dodgy connection to the switch - or it's on its way out...

Harsh - imvho sounds like you have (joy of joys) an intermittent short somewhere (like you needed me to tell you that!) Do the fuses blow immediately or do you get 'some usage'?

There is almost nothing worse to diagnose than an intermittent electrical fault!

When my throttle bodies where done it was just a clean, as the engines idle was uneven. I have never had a problem
with the balance.

Thanks all for your responces... seems all is well on the brake light front, I took the switch of had a look ....(like that helped smile ) once fitted back still didn't work BUT later that night cha ching !!! all good.

So now at least I shouldn't be rear ended ...unless I go to the common late at night and start messing around with my shoe lacy's.... smile

As for the throttle bodies, they where cleaned and balanced, normaly I would go to Mike and used him ALWAYS on my Diablo, had some warrante when I bought the car..unfotunatly once in Lambo-London the Warrante co. decided it was not covered..

Once again thanks all.
