well its gone all limp and i cant open the door from the inside anymore!

is this an easy fix or is it something my local mechanic wold be better having a look at?

Sounds like the little cable clamp on at the lock has slipped. Pull the B post carpet back and operate the handle, you will see which cable moves, use a screw driver to adjust the position of the cable clamp.

Easy fix really, no need for mechanic.

If your door release cable breaks, as mine did the other day, don't despair. No need to pay out anything upwards of £35. Just go to your local bike shop and buy a "Tandem gear change cable" for approx £4.99. This should be 2.5m in length which is more than adequate. All that may be neccesary is to dress the ferrule to the proper profile to fit the handle end.

I found it impossible to fit the right way round and so fed it in from the door end and simply used the existing ferrule from the door end to secure it at the handle.
