Hello, all

Ive got a passenger side electric window issue.....

Thanks to a previous request on how to get the door trim off, I managed that this afternoon in about half an hour, with minimal tourettes and damage to my hand.

On getting the trim off, I can see that the motor is working, but the window mechanism appears to be jammed in the up position. I think that this is due to the mechanical feed off the motor, and not the lifter mechanism.

Can anyone give me any pointers on how to get this out of the door so I can see what is going on ?? ~ As I said, the mechanism has jammed the glass up. Do I need to get the glass out first ??

I can see the 3 bolts that hold the assembly onto the door but I cant see a way forward at the moment.

My Griff lives outside under a cover, and so any help on making this quick and saving my arse from getting cold would be greatly appreceiated.

Thanks

dhf

probably a silly question, but have you checked your fuses and swapped over the switches to see if it is a switch problem ?

Is the glass still attached to the scissor mechanism, is the scissor mechanism still going up down, is the worm drive spinning with the motor... Observation is the key, and will likely identify the problem then the cause might need to be diagnosed and fixed wink

Yep. Glass is attached to scissor mechanism. Switch works. Motor works. Worm drive moves window approx half an inch if that, but with trouble. As I dont have a garage, I was hoping to get the whole mechanism out so that I can look at the assembly off the car somewhere a little warmer and drier.....

Can anyone tell me how to disassemble the lot ~ I do think its worm drive associated, so if there is a way of isolating this and the motor so that I can check the scissor mechanism that would be great.

Any help would be appreciated ~ I really am looking for a shortcut if poss.

Thanks !

Is the window still in the runners at both ends? If not the glass could jam.

Thanks for the help. Stripped the whole mechanism out yesterday, and basically the lot was gunked up with years of rubbish !

Gave the lot a good clean, reassembled it out of the door, so that I could see it working, and now its fine.

Thanks for the advice.
