Eurofiddlions Lottery?

The Euromillions Lottery regularly seems to find jackpot winners in Spain (pop 40 million) and Portugal (pop 11 million)....

While the good old 60 million from the UK hardly ever get a look in...

What's going on here, then...?

These foreign johnnies keep flying east, getting ahead of us, so they can see the results, then phoning home with the numbers so their goats can buy the winning tickets...

I thought, thanks to Maggie Thatcher's rebate, we actually came out of the whole EU finances quite nicely, or at least not as hard-hit as some of the others.

I've noticed this too, very few UK jackpot winners.

I won £5.70 so I'm alright jack. I did spend £6 on tickets but I still won.

The Friday night draw is Spains main lottery draw, as it is in onther countries. So many more peopl eenter it than here, where its a reletivly minor draw in terms of ticket sales, apart from massive roll overs

The French turned round afterwards and laughed at Bliar's pathetic attempts to win the EU presidency and kept the cash, while we meekly surrendered.

To be fair, even Labour wants to retain this rebate. Tony Blair fought very hard for it against France's "requirement" that it be abolished, in 2005. The UK said it would only consider scrapping the rebate if there were CAP reform, which of course the French are dead set against.

Yep. Still, a few billion here or there of our tax money to support other countries............

I wonder if they pay us any money to help repay the war loan we took out to free them from occupation..............

You'd think wouldnt you. However a handful of years ago T Blair went to Europe to renegotiate the deal and his punt was that farm subsidies were to be removed, now France objected 100% to this but on blind hope Blair put in the £6-9billion of our cash in the vain hope that out of that gesture they would remove the subsidy.

Guess what - in all this time since they have not & dont intend to nor did they agree to. Instead what happened was they ROFLOL thank you Blair youve just decreased our payment to you and we remain with farm subsidies. ...

Blair screwed us & Brown Both both "balls deep"
