Right then, not sure this is the best place to air my thoughts but what the hell I can take the abuse and flaming.

Anywho onto the details.

I have recently moved back to the area were I grew up after 6+ years away at Uni' and working and have got back in contact with old friends via the power of Facebook and also started going drinking with the 'old school crew'. Due to it being a small 'dead end' town I have come back pretty succesful and it seems the "square" & "swot" jibes at school were worth it.

A number of people who I went to school with have added me on Facebook, loads in fact, it seems indiscriminate, including people who bullied and hated me, but I diress.
One of which was a girl who I got on with and I had a huge crush on, she was and still is "well fit". I sent her a Facebook message to see how she was and what she was upto.
Surprisingly she got back to me the same day with a really 'interested message asking about me and most importantly asking if I was "married or Loved-up", I sent one back with a bit of banter and some details of what I was up-to and saying I wasn't attached (in a confident, not self pitying way). Again she got straight back to me with alot of interest in my career in Motorsport and car design and also saying very clearly that she was single and was afraid it could end up staying that way (in a jokey manner).

Now heres were things change, I thought that this would be an oppoutunity to ask if she fancied going for a drink, catching-up could be fun. So I sent her a message asking her as such..... Nothing pushy, nothing pervy.

Guess what now she's ignoring me! I thought maybe she hadn't seen the message but have since noticed she has been on Facebook and updated her status several times and since she has previously responded very quickly she has obviously made a decision not to reply.

Now the question.

Why do people (women) think ignoring someone is appropriate? A simply "no thank-you" would be fine but ignoring is so ignorant (hence the word).

Any advice or answers to the question about ignoring would be appreciated.

(awaits a flaming)

Life is too short to wonder why other people do things, let them get on with it.

She wants you to chase her a little bit because she's an insecure bunny boiler.

Dammit I was hoping no one was going to answer biggrin

The answer is women like to string you along until you get keen and because she doesn't actually fancy you she will ignore you.

Headline: "Self proclaimed 'big-timer' moves back to small town, tries to punch above his weight and gets knocked down"! tongue out

Now for the serious bit - SWT - Now she knows you're still interested after 6 years away, her ego is massaged and her job is done so now she can ignore you save in the knowledge that she has another admirer. HTH biggrin

You should not of asked her for a drink - or at least not so quickly.

Not that that helps but hey-ho.

I've been in a similar position a couple of times, the simple answer is you're dealing with a woman and they do things like that all the time.

I think the important thing to remember is that you never know what's happening on the other side of someone's computer. There are many reasons why she may not have replied, good and bad, maybe send another light hearted message, and see. If not, just think its her loss and move on.

The answer, well, women themselves don't know, they brag they are mysterious, that people never understand them, that they are ever changing, that their bodies are a mystery, that their moods are unpredictable, their motives deep.......... blah blah blah...

SO HOW THE FVCK DO THEY EXPECT US MEN TO KNOW WHAT THEY WANT????? confused

Just send her another message.

Regarding asking you out for a drink the other day I didnt wish to offend you, far from it in fact. What I was getting act was whether you'd be interested in dirty rubber glove egg whisk bum love in a cheap hotel in Gloucester one afternoon in the coming weeks.

I would like a response if you can manage it, a simple yes/no will suffice.

Thanks.

Because she's insecure and would like it if you chased her... however if you did (and you did momentarily) it will spell doom on your chances with such a girl.

Either don't worry about it because she's not worth the effort, or next time it comes up with her or a similar girl be doing something and ask her along (her loss if she doesn't join in type thing).
