Genuine or Scam?
Discussion
Just received an email from a 'Reunion' website telling me that 'X' wants to get in touch.
'X' is an attractive Swedish blonde that I met on a dating site about five years ago.
We exchanged emails daily for a couple of weeks and got on very well - though she clearly had some 'baggage' (abusive, alcoholic ex-long term partner).
We met once (she holidays in the UK) but, although gorgeous, she was emotionally unstable and irrational. It's a long story, but basically she was too much like hard work, and I called a halt - much to her distress.
So, now - five years later - she's apparently entered my details (including email address) into this 'Reunion' website.
When I search on the website I can't find anyone matching her description. And if I want to 'view profile' of anyone (of that name, in Sweden) I have to subscribe.
And anyway, she obviously still knows my email address - so why doesn't she just send me an email ?
Part of me thinks it's an elaborate scam, and part of me is curious.
What do you think?

I had a virtually identical email yesterday. Not from a dating contact, but my dad's partner, bizarrely.
So, on the basis that you've had something so similar, it has to be a scam.
She has a hotmail account - how about this girl who's allegedly tried to contect you? I'm wondering if Hotmail have some kind of virus going around again?

Sounds like spammy spammy spam spam spam to me! She'll probably have had to 'invite' some friends to properly join...basically the site pimping themselves out and trying to convice you (via your eagerness to screw her brains out) to join their rubbish dating site. Ignore them, flag it as spam to your email provider and/or send some abuse back to them!

Thanks.
I've had three of these reunion emails over the same amount of days:-
1 was from a guy I got as a removal company a couple of years ago.
2 was from a customer who emailed me a couple of months ago and I had one order from
3 was from an old friend who I lost touch with ages ago (or rather I couldn't be arsed to carry on speaking to!)
I assume it's some sort of virus??

guess if the woman really wanted to contact the OP, then they would have used the email address directly, getting asked to pay to chat to someone means the site gets blocked
need to check my hotmail soon to see if anything interesting on it, kept getting a lot of hunting and related porn from some yanks who took a long time to realise I have the same name as one of their buddies
