When what the media tell you isn't quite...

None of us are oblivious to the garbage and lies the combined news media feed us on a daily basis; whether it's an entirely fabricated story about your favourite celeb or a government spun story about something more serious.

Sometimes we're fooled; sometimes the morning coffee gets sprayed all over table...

The Sunday Times said:

Six Somali pirates who hijacked a Saudi supertanker drowned with their share of the ransom when their boat capsized as it left the vessel, their leader said yesterday.

Four others were missing with their share of the $3m payoff, which been parachuted on to the tanker on Friday, Mohamed Said said by phone from the port of Harardhere.

I once met a chap who had (or even still was) in the SBS and he told many a tale of stuff like this, lots of things with refugee's too...all very amusing and stories you'd never hear reported accurately in the news.

Maybe I'm gulable, but I'd go with V8's story over the times.

Have to admit my first thoughts were along those lines as well, especially as a US Navy vessel was nearby 'watching' proceedings

I believe the terminology is something along the lines of 'some drama, contact, and then some double-tapping' dear boy.

I thought 'drama' was for a contact involving serious opponents? Anything less is a 'scene', anything up to and including nuclear conflict is a 'show'.
