Got the Canon 400D, does anyone know of any good straps, which can be easily, and quickly attached/detached from the camera.

I am thinking something which clips on/off. I don't always want the strap on it, and when I use the battery grip, I use the hand hold one which clips on the bottom of the battery holder.

Optech spring to mind (there are afew on Ebay too). However they don't completely detach: you fasten the straps at each end to the camera's strap rings as usual and the main strap detaches from the "ends" using plastic clips.

Only takes a second to attach / detach and the OPtech straps are usually a kind of springy rubbery material so have more "give" when you're carrying something heavy.

I may not have explained it very well so feast your eyes on their website for a few hours!

Tis neoprene. I bought a couple a few years ago (used one for my tripod). Still going strong thumbup

(plus, being neoprene, you have less of a problem with it sitting around your neck for hours on end)

I would recommend Lowepro, Perhaps the speedster?

Mine is a Hama one. Neoprene again and very very comfortable to wear. Plus it can be clipped on and off in seconds. It was only about £7 as well if I remember correctly.

Another big vote for the Optech straps here, have used them for years and love them - most of my time the strap is unclipped and the 2 'tails' are clipped together forming a kind of wrist strap, long strap goes on when needed.

Curved to fit on shoulder better, and rubber bits really grip well. Elastic makes it seem lighter somehow...

I just bought this Optech strap:

Seems to be pretty good - much more comfortable than the standard Nikon strap plus it doesn't advertise the exact model for everyone to see.

One of the best things about the OpTech straps is that they have elasticised sections which act as suspension. It really eases the load on your shoulder especially if you've got a heavy body/lens combination.

Make it yourself!

I have attached plastic cable ties to the camera and then attach the strap thus:

Comes off in seconds and with a cable tie at both sides you can have the strap wherever you want it.
