I'm thinking of buying a Seiko chronograph SND 253 P1 or SNA 411 P1. Can anyone tell me why these aren't listed in the Seiko online catalogue? As I'm buying on the net I'm worried that these might be imports that I would not be able to get serviced here.
Also, could anyone tell me if the circular slide rule would carry out any simple add, divide, subtract, times calculations, or are they just aviation speed and fuel consumption?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Can't answer your question but I have a Seiko chrono and in the last few weeks, the chrono part of the operation has ceased to work. I had a quick nosey at the servicing costs and seriously, by the time you add them up, you may well be better off just buying a new watch.

Off the top of my head (prices in the region of) :

Movement service - £30-40
Glass polish - £30
New battery and seal - £25

Plus postage, you aren't getting much change from a ton for a watch which is maybe only worth 50% more...

A bit pissed off it's broken down to be honest - I've had 6 years out of it, fair enough, but my old man still has the watch he got for his 21st and it's still going!

Just a thought...
