Anyone else think Hammerite products are crap!

Painted the lower half of my transit van with Hammerite black stone chip,four days later it rained and the rain strips have left white stripes all along where i've painted?Hammerite hammered look paint on metal,rusts through in a few weeks.Now this morning i bought a tin of Hammerite smooth black spray paint to paint the bared metal forks on my Motorbike,what do i get after two coats?(Apart from the tin now not spraying!)This!

So, you used Hammerite products twice, without success. What's the best way to follow this? That's it, try it again!

I've used Hammerite products for many years on car chassis, stone chip areas and on various boat parts. Never had any problems ....once I started following instructions like making sure the surface is clean dry and free of any loose particles or contamination!

Third time lucky and all that,didn't think they could all be crap.Forks i've just tried to paint,the metal couldn't be cleaner.Just getting sod all coverage.Bough plasticote paint and it's just covered both forks in two coats,yep,can't be my fault then.

Personally i have never had a problem with the stuff. I used it extensivly on my old cooper and on a C90 Cub. Used pretty much every variant that there is and worked a treat. Maybe the gods don't like you......

POR 15 is much better stuff and there are some others out there that are supposed to be goood as well.

It's too cold for painting at the moment, most paints on the back of the can say "don't paint in temperatures of less than 10 degrees".

Also it's all about the preparation, you can have the best pain in the world but if you don't prep' the metal properly it will look cack.

My last couple of attempts with Hammerit inc doing the rear swing arm of my old supermoto in hammered effect black have come really nice.
