Just going out to check the Insurance Market again - any good recommendations that would cut down the calls would be appreciated.

Cheers and safe and happy driving to all.

Just had my renewal through from A-Plan and even after a total write off and a hand full of injury claims only went up by £150.

Trying some of the other recomended people has seen quotes of over £2k come in. Unfortunaly its always going to be a case of trying them all in my experiance. frown

Try Moneysupermarket.com or gocompare.com or confused.com.

Last years insurance for mine was £620 with business use.

This year I used the above and moved to Bell. I saved money, plus got protected no claims, even though I earned myself 3 points last year.

Definitely made it worth shopping around...

I used Direct Line last year for the R8 but A plan were cheaper this year, plus no extra for european cover, all seems to be swings and roundabouts................

My £620 quote was with E-sure.

The bell documents arrived today, and were headed up Admiral ?

I too am with Greenlight. £600 for my Ro with no mods and didn't stipulate a tracker, though they did insist i got a security 'health check' certificate from one of their approved agents, which wasn't a problem.

I got it £440 last year with LV (liverpool Victoria). If you are a member of the CSMA (civil service motoring asociation) then you get a decent discount.

do Directline cover mods then? I have to say since switching house insurance to DL they have saved a fortune on my daily car and the oh's car due to loyalty.

Some. They covered my change of exhaust and remap - for a consideration obviously - up to a 10% power hike. Havent asked about things likes brakes, superchargers etc.

Bell and Admiral are owned by the same company but trade seperately. The stupid thing is I have switched between both more than once trading them off against one another. Worth checking the other one so to speak.

I also had a claim through one of them (cant recall which now) and they were efficient enough - although the policy was 3rd party F&T so they were only handling the other guys claim to be fair.

GIven I have a policy about to start with them on 22/1, I'd be interested too please. There is always the option of 14 day cancellation if it is really concerning!

it was the way that they handled a claim a while back. Was fully comp, protected no claims and they could not have been more obstructive if they tried. Took months to get payment and receive my documentation back
As such, I hold a grudge and would never use them or any of that stable again
Obviously , others may have different experiences, but that was mine

Yeah - you never really know with insurance until you have to use it... Bit like a cheap parachute, the sales guy will say "I have never had anyone come back and complain...
