anyone know why on airplanes some people get headaches, sore nasal passages, bloodshot eyes, red flushed cheeks etc..

everytime i take a long-ish flight i usually feel pretty rotten whilst at high altitude, almost like having the remains of flu... and after the flight its like i've survived a car crash or something. Some people seem to be ok though

is it the air in the plane ? something to do with the altitude maybe ?

It's because they banned smoking on planes, they don't bring in fresh air now just recycle what is in there.

i get this as well.

always assumed it was the air - it is really dry and plays havoc with my skin eyes and sinuses. I use copious amounts of wine to help smooth things over

I have felt dodgy on planes before, although it doesn't happen every time.

I always thought it was something to do with the pressure, and the air systems on the plane not working perfectly. After a plane flight I always feel fine, if a little bit tired.

Anything from O2 levels being low and the aledged introduction of carbom based chemicals into the air as the air is recycled through the engines, some of the early McDouglas aircraft from memory were very bad for it.

There is a Austrialian based group that monitor the incident of such air sickness cases, there was something in the Sunday Times a few months ago that made very worrying reading.

Sounds like the bad aids mate.

you might find avoiding alcohol, caffine etc, drinking water in small amounts often, and eyedrops soothe the worst of it out.

On some flights they also crank up the heating to make everyone sleepy. Drowsy passengers = little requests/complaints/trouble

I fking hate flying as i always get off feeling like complete and utter st and normally need about a week to feel 100% again

fking awful way to get around the planet how anyone does that for fun i have no fking idea.

You must be fking mad going on long hall flights for a week on the other side of the world

If i has a time machine i'd get that bd whittle and stick him in cattle class on a KLM flight to the other side of the world.

That would put the fker off inventing the fking jet engine

Frank whittle you are a fking asshole and i hope you fking die you utter utter

I passed out on a plane last October.

woke up with a mask on, my feet in the air and 300 people looking at me - with another 6 hours of flight to go!!!!

Cheeky bh air stewardess said ‘you need a cup of sweet tea love. I’ll get you one’.

Charged me £2 when she bought it!!

The only problem I have is that anything over a two hour flight means I don't seem to poo for at least 24 hours. Either this is now a psychological thing or the pressure change switches on some kind of bowel compression enyzyme - altitudus imodius perhaps?

You think the aircraft manufacturer or the operator have actually physically altered the air conditioning systems and the amount of recirculated air since smoking was banned?

Try sitting at 8,000ft in a really small, dark, hot room with an airconditioner above your head sucking out all the moisture and a piped in smell of farts. Now down a few glasses of champagne, red wine and port whilst staring at an 8" screen.

Now that's a flight simulator. Try drinking more water and splash some cold water on your face in the lav next time.

I'm not convinced. He had me up until the final line but I'm now suffering a sort of temporal confusion. He's presumably already dead but thinfourth2 did make mention of a time machine so are we assuming that he is brought back and made to die in our time? Or do we simply let sleeping dogs lie and accept that he's dead in his. Anyway, it distracted me from the meat of the rant somewhat and I now feel like lying down.

Dehydration and the cabin altitude being around 8000ft.

For me, it's not the air, or the altitude, or the legroom, or the food, or the seat in front reclining (don't use charter planes), or in fact any of the usual rant. It's s that keep either knocking into or kicking, or leaning on my frikin chair that makes me want to rip their hearts out and eat it raw in front of them. I paid for that chair, don't fukin touch it you .

Thankyou please, pepsi max.
