Radio Front Needed
Discussion
Anyone got a Griff or Chim Pioneer radio front going spare - happy to pay for it?
Some very nice person took it from my car while we were away over Christmas - together with my old broken sunglasses and some other stuff that wasn't worth very much! They left the radio though so always look on the bright side!!
Any help would be appreciated as always guys.

I think the model number is on the front panel, d'oh!
PS - I'm not taking the dashboard out to look at the head unit.
It's a standard flip down front Pioneer which must have been in most Griffs/Chimps in 1996/7 or longer.

No need to remove the whole dash to get the head unit out, you just need the Pioneer release keys which have been standard for years (certainly since 1996 to date) and it's a one minute job. There should then be a sticker on the top/bottom of the unit with the model number. PS - I'm not taking the dashboard out to look at the head unit.

I'd pop into a local Halfords and ask them nicely to release the unit or lend you the Pioneer keys for a minute or two so you can take it out. If they're reluctant it might help if you were to in some way imply that you wanted to check if your car has ISO fittings as you are considering an upgrade

Guys, you are brilliant - thank you...
I'll have to have a look at the radio in the car to see if it says what model it is - we've assumed it was the original one but not really sure.
It's a radio / CD player and is linked to an interchanger in the boot.

ah, Mine was the Radio/cassette player option I think. I'll get the loft ladder out and check anyway I'll have to have a look at the radio in the car to see if it says what model it is - we've assumed it was the original one but not really sure.

Looks like mine was a Radio / CD .. model DEH-524R 35w x 4.
If you remove the facia on mine - there is no model number on the black front .. but the model number is shown on the bottom on the unit but it will need to be pulled out .. using metal clips like those on the top of the photo.
Apologies for the lousy picture..
