I'm going into hospital for a minor operation tomorrow and as the OH is in the Rockies at the moment I'll be home alone. So what are your suggestions for passing the time whilst laid up in bed?

I have lined up a bunch of movies on my computer and I have a couple of interesting books to read but what else can I do once I get bored?
I imagine I'll be laid up for a day or two so your suggestions are all welcome.

When you say the lower halfs out of action, does that rule out masturbation? That's always my fallback if I have time to kill and can't think of anything to do... You could try and set a PH record?

Pick a subject you don't know anything about and research it, learn it and write about it...

It'll take you weeks to think of something appropriate..

A piece of:

Machinery, history, local area, person, artist, music, animal, criminal, event, car, plane, bike, profession.

Or post on here for suggestions. hehe

Chill out and rest. After all, recuperation is what you are meant to be doing.

sleep lots.

If the lower half can accept being mobile, then try to train to stay fit whilst bed ridden? Possibilities would be e.g shoulder press, bicep curls, if suitable brabbable objects rows (like a reverse pressup). Alternatively, learn a musical instrument (unless in a ward type environment), or some other daft party trick? If you are in a ward type affair, you could play board games of various descriptions whilst semi prone.

In all seriousness - the learning something/writing about something is a good one.

I wrote a book when I was in hospital with Salmonella when I was younger. But it was ste.

Go onto one of the religious sites and challenge those Creationilsts

OR go onto the scientology sites and do the same - carefull with these idiots though as they have a history of tracing you down and making your life hell.....

Actually go onto the Scientology site and start a discussion "Scientology killed J Travolta". Should be really good.

Finally read R Dawkins - forget the title. He's an Athiest but a top professor in Oxford in Biology/paliantology and highly respected but thankfully he speaks out against the religions and engages them in debate ... search Youtube for some of the famous battles where the creationolist/idiot is so well beaten he doesnt know what happened...
