Domestic electrical help

I need to replace a 40A MCB with a 50A RCBO. The consumer unit is Wylex but Wylex RCBO's only appear to go to 40A. Will an MK or other make RCBO fit in the Wylex box?

I'm pretty sure that's notifiable work, in which case it's probably cheaper and easier to get a qualified sparky to do it.

It is and I am but we sparkys don't know everything so we come to the font of all knowledge to ask for help.

I am sure it will, the cable entry points where it clamps to the bus bar may be different. rcbos are normaly a lot larger in height so you may struggle if the consumer unit is cramed with wires.

Im slightly curious that you are a sparky and you are asking this on Pistonheads, most normal sparks would just try it, i suppose no harm in asking.

What Wylex board is it?

Wylex do a 50 amp rcbo which will fit in the NH range insulated and metal boards, part number PSBS50/1.

That's the fella, it's not quoted where I normally get my supplies. I've got Edmunson Electrical on the case.
