I can't say at the moment who (let's just say its retail again..>!!!), but we have just had the "we are going to have to make cutbacks to save the business" speech today. I don't know how many people are going to have to go but it's still bad no matter how many..... I'm confident I'll be ok because i'm a survivor and thats what i do,one way or another, but its the older ones or people who can't get another job that i feel for.. We knew it was coming but its still a shock when it happens..

Yes its horrible isn't it. I work as a Quality Technician at an Automotive pressings factory, and we've been on a 4 day week since November. Just had a meeting saying we have to have a weeks shutdown at the end of Jan, and one of the end of Feb, as we supply to Land Rover and Toyota. Voluntary redundancies have been asked for, if none of forthcoming people will be let go. Career change is needed! I joked with the missus that within 2 years of us buying a house everything would go tits up. Prophetic words............
