Hi chaps,
Thought this would be of interest to fellow 996TTers.
Having pruntled on about sports exhaust's a while ago, I thought an update was in order.
Got the car back from my local OPC yesterday with a cargraphic sports system fitted...first impressions...

Upside.....From the outside it sounds fanbloodytastic, particularly flat out in 2nd & third & not too loud on tickover, just deeper & meaner !! Has added to the driver interaction, sounds particularly mean in the mid-range. The turbo's are spooling up earlier & there is noticably more grunt than before.

Downside....It can be VERY boomy in the cabin on certain part throttle openings (the same points as the standard car is loud..e.g.around 2k). This may prove wearing, only time will tell. It's at it's loudest inside the cabin in the mid-range & (suprisingly) not at the top end.

I will keep you posted once I have lived with it for a while, which reminds me must go out & test it out again, listen out for me !!!

Pruntled. What a great word. It's one of those that really should mean something

If you find the exhaust note wearing, just do what a friend of mine did when he had a stupid (straight through pipes and no cats) system on his Cerbera. Wear earplugs

Nice one Grant glad you got the system,i am sure you will be blipping for the hell of it.

Did you get the 100 cell cats also? I thought this was part of the cargraphic package..

I have got the art of switching both rear boxes on the 993 from sports to standard in about an hour.

If it gets boomy...switch back,,then when you miss the rortiness back again......absolute madness but fun.
Hope to hear it at Brunters sometime...

Clubsport...yes it has the 100 cell race cats, they are part of the whole exhaust system. According to the OPC
you need to take the rear bumper off to fit it, so I don't think I will be wipping it on & off. in honesty I managed to bag one second hand, I had decided that £3500 was a bit extravagant for a toy that I may not like. James..I have the ear plugs ready.

Good move Grant,,the 100 cells should give you a few more Pork under the engine lid...maybe worth putting the car on to a rolling road to see if you do actually get any more power and where on the curve..
It really shouldn't cost much and may influence whether you keep it on or not...have fun!

Thanks chaps according to cargraphic it gives an extra 21 horses & 20Ibft of torque, which has been proved on the rolling road. Still not quite got Daz's 450 bhp, but whats 9 bhp between PistonHeaders !!!
