Hi guys, my wheels are off for a refurb tomorrow and I thought I'd replace the centre badges with some new ones from Clevor Trevor... only thing is, I'm not sure the best way to get the old badges out without knackering the centre cap? :scrathchin:

Suggestions please - I'd rather I do it than someone who doesn't appreciate the rarity of these parts!

Heat them slightly (to soften the glue) then gently prise them off. I used a stanley knife blade to ease under them, quite easy once started.

What temperature should I have the oven on, they're reluctant to give up?! nuts

I'm considering taking some kind of dremel tool to the centre of the badges to prise them out from the middle in the way that you would a broken tile when you don't want to damage the ones around it. Any thoughts on this?

I only used a hairdryer for a couple of minutes. Maybe the factory had better glue in the day they did yours wobble
Your suggestion sounds a good option.

Just managed to get the bcensoreds off and it wasn't easy! Interestingly the two I have removed were different and I'd never noticed. 3 of 4 have a very rigid metal backing embossed with the TVR logo and then faced with a quite thick rubber part. These were clearly the 1995 originals as they have the toughest glue known to man and were an impossibly tight fit, preventing you from picking up an edge - I ended up cutting into the badge with a blade and a screwdriver and prising them up from within. It took a lot of work and was quite nerve wracking trying not to snap the centre cover in the process. The other one must have been a replacement as it was nothing like the quality of the others and came out somewhat easier.

Plenty of glue left behind from the non-original - guess what I'm up to tonight rolleyes
