XK used prices
Discussion
Just wondering proples opinions on where XK used prices will go from here.. I am holding off at the moment but I am looking at XK coupes 2006. Prices are coming in around 30k - 33k at dealers at the moment.. just wondering what impact the new XK and XK diesel launching in March is likely to have on the used prices.
Basically wondering at the moment do I buy or do I wait 3 months to see if prices fall again.

Personally I think prices are near bottom now.
Lots of people (me included) have bought some right bargains lately but once the production slack gets bought up prices will firm a bit.
That and the fact that petrol is actually cheaper now than it was in 2002 and you have a market that could be close to bottoming out.

Agree with Ringram, when the car of your desire gets to the price you can afford it, buy it. Cars will always lose money. You might as well buy a 1998 XK8 as they are now £5k, they were £50k new............. Doesn't mean anything.
Buy the 2006 and expect it to lose £500/mnth from now on and you won't be disappointed. I have always thought Jags represent the best value after 3 years.

My understanding is XK Diesel will not be out until 2010. New 5 Litre XK / R in April this year no major revisions except new front bumper and XF rising gear control knob. Major revisions for 2011 MY.Basically wondering at the moment do I buy or do I wait 3 months to see if prices fall again.
I think now is a good time to buy as good cars coming to market that owners are being forced to sell through current credit crunch.Too many cars equals low prices. I am sure you could get a 2 year old car with at least 50% off with less than 10k miles on it. Good luck and enjoy it.

I just bought a late '06 XKR with a lot of options at less than half list price with 16k on the clock. As another poster said I did debate on whether to wait for further price reductions but I can afford it and it was a well specified car so decided to enjoy the car.
I think the launch spec XKRs i.e. '56 plate cars, are the best ones to have as they have all the good kit fitted already. Only if you want the aerial removed or the limited Portfolio XKRs is it worth spending more money on a newer car.G
