IrfanView batch conversion

I'm trying to do a batch resize with IrfanView, but whatever I do the resultant images are really poor quality. They look almost as if they've been really heavily sharpened (sharpening isn't applied). Any ideas about what I'm doing wrong?

Advanced Options "Use Resample Function (better quality)"
