Folks, when did it become a requirement to put the alcoholic content of a drink on the bottle (is it a requirement?!?!) I only ask becasue I've been given an old looking bottle of port which literally says fine ruby port and the vinters address on the lable.

Iain

If it didn't have a date on it it won't be anything special, even if it is very old

Yeah well, thats life, port is for drinking, houses are for living in, cars are for driving, none are meant to be "investments"
FWIW its not really crusty, but the cork is very soft.

And? Drinking a £50 or even £100 bottle of port isnt going to cause me to loose sleep. Relax, there's no need to be panic struck on my behalf, its a very kind gesture, but I'm ok. Really.

Now...can anyone answer the original question?
Regards
Iain

...but this is PH, if a question can't be answered here the world will fall apart and we will end up living in mud huts throwing stones at the bright shiney thing in the sky that appears from time to time.
