I understand the race will again be shown on EuroSport so you will need a Sky box with your card from the UK (card matches box). All you need is a small dish and a means fixing it so its stays in position connect your box then find the satellite and away you go with all your sky channels.

There's also the Kangaroo TV option - http://www.kangaroo.tv/
Not perfect but watchable and covered as far out as Houx/Technoparc last year and should cover all sites this year from what's been said on here before.

No it can't. The format is broadcast as ideal for the 3.5in screen and would be horribly pixelated on a larger screen. I asked Kangaroo about this so that info is from them.
We'll be looking at getting that telly system sorted for 09 though RPD. It would have been in 08 if someone had remembered to bring a stand for it! (not me!)

I'm interested in this also. I don't have sky at home, so that's not an option. Is it free to air on analogue still? If it is, how would I go about getting it, in laymans terms.

Last year I went to the race. Beforehand, however, while still at home I wanted to watch the qualifying sessions in the week leading up to the race. I do not have Sky or a cable network, but I did manage to watch and listen to the qualifying session. So, how did I do it?
First, I found an online video feed here:

This got me to Europort France and once there I went to the motor sport section and found the Le Mans qualifying feed. The quality was OK, not great. The commentary was in French, so I then went to the Radio Le Mans website and picked up their internet commentary in English. Hey presto, job done! Had the whole thing on my laptop anywhere around the house!
I am going to the race this year and I will almost certainly want to watch the qualifying sessions before I leave so I'm hoping that I can follow the same procedure again. Anyway, there is likely to be a clever PHer or two who will find a similar way to achieve the link up and post details on this Le Mans thread.

Guy - I'll speak to you later about sorting it out - perhaps we can take a feed from your satellite. Maplin sell a satellite signal finder which is really useful for getting the dish pointed in the right direction. It's less than a tenner if I remember correctly.
As for the people asking if the coverage is free to air - nope - pretty sure Eurosport is a subscription channel these days so you'll need someone with a sky card. Doesn't matter that it's a UK box and dish - it'll still pick up the signal if it's pointed in the right direction.
