Save looking round all the different operators by going to a broker such as IGLU ski.
I got £400 off a top all inclusive deal this way. Can't wait!
If you find a 'deal' on there you can then copy and paste the info into google which usually returns the tour operator direct where you can often negotiate a little further.
Most of Europe has a good base this season and many areas are exceptional!

How long are you going away for?
My brother is off on a snow boarding trip to France in February. He is going by overnight coach from London and will hopefully wake up at the Ski Resort in time to check in and hit the slopes. I think it works out as arriving on Friday and snowboarding all day, snowboarding all day Saturday, same again on Sunday and then on Monday he'll be snowboarding in the morning and then heading off home on another overnight coach.
I think it was around £430 including Ski Lift passes.

North West Italy is looking particularly good. The Piedmont got record snowfalls a few weeks ago and the Italian Monte Rosa region (Champoluc, Alagna, Gressoney) report once in twenty year snow depths.
Val d'Isere/Tignes have a very good base but a lot of France is starting to get a bit hard and scratchy on piste. Verbier isn't bad. Any further east towards Crans Montana and Zermatt and it's starting to look a bit bony.

I had a week in Courchevel over new year. After 4 days we got fed up with the lack of coverage off the pistes (pistes are fine). Drove down to Vars/Risoul for fresh tracks 4 days after a snow fall. They had over 2m in all the southern French Alps resorts eg Isola 2000, Montgenevre etc
I've just got back from a long weekend skiing in Sierra Nevada in Spain and there was a lot of snow there. Not the biggest resort but good for a few days, and jolly cheep cos I stayed with a mate in Granada. Very strange being able to ski and yet see the Med and be so close to Africa.
Me and Mrs Orb(s) are also off to Baquiera in the Pyrenees for a week on 1st Feb (fly in via Toulouse). It's costing 399 which is for a really nice chalet with Ski Miquel. We've been with them lots before - good ski guiding, truly top notch food (breakfat, evening meal and wine inclusive). Booked this morning. I'd have left it longer and tried to get the price down, however then you run the risk of that particular place being full.
Stuff like lift passes and food on the slopes seem breathtakingly expensive at the moment due to the pound:euro exchange rate - christ knows how expensive France will be
which is the reason we're going (a) half-board and (b) to Spain.

We stay in our condo which is in the Whistler Hilton, about 20 seconds from the main lifts. We bought this about 3 years ago for about £200,000 and to be honest it’s not worth much more than we paid for it. But it’s great for the family as its right in the centre of things. The Hilton also look after it for us for a fee of course
