I like cars (obviously), cycling and gardening. I also like folk that speak to others on internet fora in a polite fashion - as if face to face.

I've been looking at PH at work for some time, but was unable to contribute (work rules). PH seems to be a good source of advice on all sorts of practical issues.

Hi Randy, you should soon get the hang of it (six months isn't that long). I suggest you tweak your rules of engagement:-

1) Don't write as though you are speaking face to face. Pretend you are driving and you will be ok.
2) Ignore work rules, post on PH most of the day like everybody else.
3) Take much of what you are told with a healthy dose of cynicysm, and you'll be fine.

I got a second-hand laptop from a friend earlier in the year, registered on PH and then, soon after, my laptop "crashed". I think it was something to do with all of the "sports" websites I was looking at. (I had previously only ever used the web at work, so was completely deprived of all of the amazing things one can look at on the internet.) Anyway, after my friend re-built the laptop it took me months before I bothered to open a new email account. I feel a bit of a twit now - but I didn't actually realise how easy it would be.
