how loud in real terms is the loud mode on the exhaust? and the quiet setting as well.

Got to be honest, I've had the Wortec in loud mode for nearly 2 years and it sounds great but I guess I'm a bit of a chav. Still got the quiet plates but never fitted them & I doubt you will either when you hear it

I use the switch on mine most days. Close proximity to other cars means it sets off their alarms. Can happen on cold days in quiet mode, but I do have the headers and stuff too.

With Headers, quiet is still loud. Loud without headers isn't loud, so i'd imagine quiet without headers is close to stock.
I am now loud with headers and it's staying that way. under 2000 rpm its not much noisier than the loud without headers. open her up though and then, boy! what a noise!

I have had the switchable system fitted and I use it, although sparingly. I really love the noise produced by the car, I have noticed that you trade off the overly angry loud sounds for a quieter drive but with an undertone of muffled rumble.

My mate said, and I quote " the difference between loud and quiet mode is like a bark and a growl, the bark being the snappier, raspier of the two and the growl just grumbling along under the car"

I thought she was quite right.

Loud - nigh on most people look, especially if you're slowly pulling away from a stand still. Raspy, popping under engine breaking, subdued backfire when changing from 1st-2nd and 2nd-3rd around 3k, even when being light footed.

Quiet - the raspyness has gone, but all other elements of the sound are still there, however it's like listening to them through an interior wall in a house.

Loud = You're having the party
Quiet = You can hear your neighbour having the party

I have the performance pac, switch system and Wortec CAI enclosure. The CAI does make a lovely intake noise WOT on slip roads.
