Why exactly is it in the news they always stress "women and children" were also killed. Is the mans life really 2nd in relation to women and children? If so in the scheme of things maybe we need to point out just exactly where we would be if the man didn't do all he does.

So women and children first or every one is equal?

Ask my wife, she'll tell you. I believe it's around 0.0001% of a woman's life at current rates...

Children is a whole different kettle of fish and I believe they should always come first - they're the next generation, us old farts have had a shot at life, maybe done well or maybe ballsed it up but regardless we've had a go. Little 'uns deserve at least a chance. (this is of course barring some of the latest generation of little 'uns who may be drinking and shouting and calling you a despite being 8 - they still deserve a chance, but their status is reduced to the same as the rest of us).

Additionally the reason women are put first is because they're traditionally perceived as the weaker sex - it's we men's job to look after them and be manly dealing with pain/hardship etc. So in a perverse way I suppose it's sort of a compliment...

right you have 10 world leading scientists in the field of cancer or AIDS research, perhaps they are surgeons too. And ten kids. All are struggling in the icy cold sea. The next generation in that situation?

I'd take a bullet for my wife or child without hesitation if it came down to it.

And she's divorcing me. She's still his mother so...

I don't understand all this "the mother of my child" stuff. So what?

I'd happily put a bullet into my ex wife, not jump in front of one for her. Just cos you struck your cock into her once doesn't mean you have to die to save her.

Men are more dispensable than women that's why we do the fighting & dying. You can have one man for 1000+ women & the species would survive. If it were the other way around, well doesn't bear thinking about. However, if I was one of those blokes with a ratio or 1000 women to one man.... You'd be light on your feet eh!

Go on, admit it.

.. perhaps more to do with the notions of innocence and nurture. Yes some women are experts with AK47's and kids do a damed fine job of throwing petrol bombs... at short range, but there is the generally held belief that women would rather protect their children then be fighting..

(In the case of your life, if you feel undervalued when it's just your own appalling insecurity, low self esteem and sense of being a dormat to life's little miseries that's making you feel this way. Carry on HTH smile )

Men are dispensable (even though none of you like to believe it) smile

Women are much more important than you'll ever be. Sperm can be frozen and we can still create life once it's thawed out. Unfortunately vibrators can't mow the lawn, but the day someone invents one that can....
