When I visited the factory I noticed that most cars seamed to rub the front tires against the headlight covers/pods (inside fender). Can you guys please tell me what part of the wheel thouch what part on the pods. I will try to run a bit wider front wheels and want to know what changes I need to make them fit without rubbing.

Tricky one. It's the tyres that rub the light pods (the only solution here would be to run smaller wheels, very thin rubbers or stiffen up the suspension to rock hard!) and going any wider on the fronts would probably make them catch the edges.

To balance out the handling, I'd be more inclined to reduce the width of the rears than over-tyre the fronts.

Criminal I know as the rears are SOOOOOO SEXY!!!!

I have found the same problem with the covers. I think maybe the lights have changed at sometime as it is difficult to get the covers to clamp all the way down to front clip they tend to rest on the back of the headlights. My light covers (particularly right) have worn down and ben repaired about 3 times with fibreglass. I think I have reached the point when they are just missing, also partly due to tyre wear.
You need to keep an eye on this or muck gets thrown in behind the lights.

If you constantly drive with your foot planted on the throttle, the front suspension will extend and stop the tyres from rubbing.

Voila! Simple innit

You also can go the hard way and lengthen the complete front flip as I did. As the Xenon headlamps I am using are a bit deeper than the Halogen ones this was the only possible way. You need to cut the front flip from side to side.
But that is of course not an option for most of us.

That sounds "a bit" extreme Since I'm not painting the car it's out of the question I guess.

Mine only started to rub after I fitted new tyres... and it only rubs on one side (right).

I think its only on full lock that mine rub and I plan to modify the pod to move it forward a bit so it doesn't rub at all anymore.

There are so many variables, (ride height, tyre make, how the front clip is mounted) that it's impossible to say why some rub worst than others... it can also be down to your drive/garage i.e. up a slope and full lock to get in the garage etc....

Funniest thing is My new tyres are 245's and replaced a set of 225's and they are at least 20mm narrower... don't figure!

Andy You certainly have a point. mine has rubbed RHS and my drive drops down onto steep camber. The rub is mainly on full RH lock. The problem is shortening the cover enough and having sufficient room behind the lights.
