Hey there,

First off get onto zsoc.com, very friendly and helpful place.

But in general with these cars check service history ( every 10k ), they have good strong engines but need to maintained well.

Body work, they have a habbit of rusting around the rear arches and underneath the door seals ( pull up the rubber seal and look ). Ford would repair this under the 6 year corrosion warranty but most are past this now.

Look for a phase 2 model ( black top engine ), much more reliable engine with a 3-Piece Crank Shaft end float bearing, also has differences like interior, more lamda sensors, wheels etc etc.

If its got AC check that. If you test drive it wait till its warm then turn the blowers on cold ( they are prone to overheat, weak heater control valve, small fix ).

Other than that just check the obvious things, mot, tyre wear, braking in straight line, every ancillary working correctly.

Hope this helps as a rough answer.

No problem, yeah ive had one for about 2 years, theres a pic in my profile. They are fun and relatively inexpensive cars.

i see you picked a red 1. im looking for an imperial blue 1 or maybe a black 1. bt if i got a black 1 id like to put the blue interior in it. has anything major ever realy gone wrong? im a mechanic by trade so i do know how reliable the little fiesta are.

Nope nothing has ever gone wrong, I had a flat battery this winter but its 7 years old so to be expected. They are mechanically very strong engines, easy to service and maintain. Ive always changed oil/filter at around 7/8 thousand miles using 5w30 and its been sweet.

Theres some on zsoc with well over 100k on them, still going strong.

£3,000 ono. I'm upgrading, it's my second ZS and I'm old enough to insure and afford something quicker now.
