Hmmm, may have to pay that exceptionally twisty road in the pic above a visit. Can somebody explain how to get there and recommend a few roads in the area? smile

The Elan valley road goes from Rhayadaer to Devil's Bridge. It's unclassified but its generally a good surface.

I will throw up a map later showing where i went and some other photos i took. It was bloody cold, all the rivers where frozen over! I was gratefull that the civic has a relativley low amount of torque, it made driving in these conditions a lot easier. There was absolutly no traffic, and i saw a police man at the Dam and he looked at me with the camera and the car and said, "looks like your going to have fun today!, Just don't be calling me to pull you out of a ditch, drive safe!" Excellent i thought. Over a thousand miles done that weekend, shattered at work on monday! haha but kept me smiling all week.

Will do, cheers. Don't suppose there are any you can recommend further south - near Cowbridge (or Llandow to be specific)?

Abergavenny is a great place to start off.

Go and have a coffee and bacon roll in the bikers cafe by the bus station then head towards Monmouth. So many great roads you cant go wrong.

I went on a run around there on Saturday with 3 mates in Elises.

Those later photos really show off the scale of the surroundings. The roads round mid Wales are simnply fantastic, just as they are in North Wales. And South Wales for that matter. I love wales!
