My rear windscreen was recently replaced due to faulty heating elements. The demister now works much better but for only approximately 2/3 of the screen. The top 2 and bottom 3 elements do not heat up and I have been told this is due to them being used to get a signal for the sat-nav (generic in all rear screens whether the car has sat-nav or not).

Can anybody confirm that their rear demister works in the same way on their Z4 coupe?

Thanks

Can't check right now as the window isn't frozen/frosty/misted up, but a post on http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/ might get a quicker reply as there's more Z4 owners on there.

Wouldn't be surprised as I always wondered where the bluetooth and Sat Nav ariel were located.

Never noticed this but will keep an eye out....

...can I send you the bill for when I rear end someone whilst watching out for this?

Never noticed it either... I will look out (and probably crash too - hopefully not into you Vinny!

I've noticed the car steams up more than others I've had so need to air-con on more.

My car rarely steams up - I only really noticed that the demister wasn't working on frosty mornings.

Oh...and on balance I recommend looking at the road when driving. wink
