Most of the financials market are a long term bargain, just when?
Are they? Who else? I wouldn't touch half of them with yours.Barclays is we understand well capitalised, hasn't suckered to government control, has taken the opportunity to pick up some bargains in the the crunch that leave it as a very strong if not the strongest investment bank. They are also taking positive action to get the cost base down.
It will be pretty clear I'm not banking expert but they look one of the best bets no?

Bought a few this morning to average down my holding, hoping to get a decent return in the medium term. Also bought a few H and T to add to the old portfolio.
watch them both plummet this afternoon.
If you want to get into pawn broker stocks look at Albermarle & Bond, I bought them at 190 last month, now looks whats happening to them (and without the big dip in price that H&T did)watch them both plummet this afternoon.

Medium term?watch them both plummet this afternoon.
How long you planning on holding them?
Personally, I'm happy to buy & hold the bank shares as a medium/long termer, on the basis you'll get nowt saving it and the share price is inflation proof.

How are shares inflation proof? Inflation damages economies, which damages companies, which damages share prices. Am I missing something?Bigel said:

ITs only the Barcap workforce who will be culled, anyone in the Investment division basically.
0/10 The cuts are Investment side only and worldwide, not the retail side.
