Does anyone know if by law you have to provide a payphone in a working environment (in my case, a warehouse)?

I don't think so. We used to have them here (factory of 2000 odd employees) but took them all out last year. No one ever complained or told us we couldn't (and believe me, with some of the people who work here if there was a reason to object they'd have found it).

The only advantage is that staff can make a 999 call when the building is burning and taken the comms room first. I'm sure some employees wouldn't use their mobiles in case it cost them something wink
